Cardinals WR Michael Floyd has made a 'big leap' this offseason
Source: Fantasy Football Toolbox
I mean, Michael Floyd has probably done plenty of big leaps, physically, during the offseason. But this is more in the figurative sense from AZCardinals.com's Darren Urban.
quot;...[A]s I have noted before, it looks like Michael Floyd has made a big leap -- at least at this point in the offseason -- from Year One to Year Two," Urban wrote.
Floyd didn't do much as a rookie last year before busting out for eight catches, 166 yards and a score in Week 17.
FANTASY ANALYSIS: Floyd was a standout in OTAs last year, too, but the Cardinals buried him on their depth chart as he learned how to be an NFL wideout. It appears that he is ready to take the stage now in his sophomore season. He is definitely more talented than
Andre Roberts, and the

The Cardinals wouldn't have traded for and then signed 33-year-old Carson Palmer if they believed he could no longer throw the deep ball. So far, head coach Bruce Arians likes what he has seen from Palmer. Most importantly, Arians said Palmer can still launch it.
quot; He's tough as nails," Arians said about Palmer on Sunday in an ESPN interview. "As good a deep-ball thrower as I've ever seen. I mean really accurate on the deep ball. He still has it. What he did last year with the Raiders, in a crazy situation, I thought was very, very impressive." FANTASY ANALYSIS: That deep-throw ability is one of the foci of Arians' offense. He loves to throw the ball down the field, and I am really looking forward to seeing how Palmer operates with

Cardinals WR Michael Floyd is running with the 1st-team offense in OTAs this week, getting more prominent work than teammate Andre Roberts. Beat writer Ken Somers noted that Floyd looked “impressive and more confident” during the workouts. The 6’3, 225-pound Floyd finished with a 45-562-2 line last season. Roberts topped that with a 64-759-5 finish. Floyd is the superior talent, though, and could be in for a breakout campaign in 2013. Carson Palmer's arrival should help the team bounce back from a 28th-place finish in passing in 2012.

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer said he wants to build chemistry with all of the wide receivers because he will not be able to throw to WR Larry Fitzgerald all the time. 'It's of the utmost importance to be on the same page with Larry, but it's of the utmost importance to be on the same page with every one of those guys because the ball can't always go to him,' Palmer said. 'I know that's not what he wants to hear, but that's the truth. There will be teams that key on him and there will be games where he doesn't have as many catches as other games. It's that much more important I have that rhythm and timing down with [WR Michael Floyd] and [WR
Andre Roberts] and whoever that third and fourth guy is going to be.'

Huddle Up: With defenses paying more attention to Larry Fitzgerald there will be opportunities for whomever lines up opposite him. Floyd makes for an intriguing sleeper in that role, with Bruce Arians calling the plays and Carson Palmer an upgrade at quarterback.

The Cardinals selected WR Ryan Swope in the 6th round. He sunk down draft boards because of a history of head injuries. But Swope was plenty productive at Texas A&M, totaling 233 catches, 2,945 yards and 23 scores over the past 3 seasons. And he turned heads with a 4.34 40-yard dash at the Combine. While Swope is capable of playing outside the numbers, his best NFL fit will probably be in the slot. We'll see if he can push Andre Roberts for that role in Arizona.

When you've run out Kevin Kolb, Ryan Lindley, Brian Hoyer and John Skelton at quarterback the past couple of seasons, you really don't have any other direction to go but up. The Cardinals hope Drew Stanton represents improvement. They signed Stanton to a three-year contract Wednesday worth $8.2 million.
Per FOX Sports' Alex Marvez, Stanton said Wednesday that the Cardinals have quot;promised" he will get a shot at being the team's starter come Week 1. FANTASY ANALYSIS:
Stanton isn't some diamond in the rough. He will turn 29 in May, possess subpar accuracy and has thrown five touchdowns and nine interceptions in 187 career attempts. He hasn't played since 2010, but he spent last season as the Colts' backup quarterback, so Cardinals head

The Cardinals have released WR Early Doucet. The 2008 3rd-round pick never developed into a consistent threat in Arizona. He went for career highs in catches (54), yards (689) and TDs (5) in 2011, but his numbers dropped across the board this past season. That -- plus durability problems -- will lead to a soft market for Doucet's services. He's off the fantasy radar. Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd and Andre Roberts are locked in as the Cardinals' top 3 WRs.

quot;I think he is a bright young star," Arians said Thursday via Adam Caplan. "He has to get better fundamentally. But he's physical, he's big, he's active. I loved him coming out. To see he and Larry (Fitzgerald) across from each other, and
Andre Roberts, that's a nice group. That's one position we don't have to worry about too much." FANTASY ANALYSIS: If the Cardinals could find a competent quarterback to team with their quality wideouts, this offense would be dangerous. Until then, these words from Arians about Floyd should be taken

Many offensive coordinators had their head in the clouds again this season, evident in the pass-first mentality most teams portrayed. As a result, pass catchers, unsurprisingly identical to quarterbacks, experienced unprecedented fantasy success. In total, 19 wide receivers averaged at least 10.0 points per game in standard formats, up one from last year and four more than five years ago. The usual suspects dotted the landscape, but several newcomers (e.g. Randall Cobb and Eric Decker) made their mark as well. Below is our recap of this season's WR flames and lames with a quick look at what notable names could bring rags or riches in 2013. Ring out the old, ring in the

After seeing just 14 targets across his first 7 games, Cardinals WR Michael Floyd totaled 18 in his last 2 outings. He hauled in 10 of those for 116 yards. HC Ken Whisenhunt confirmed that the rookie's role will continue to grow. “I think Michael has worked his way into playing more,” Whiz said. “Michael has been playing well. He’s going to be worked into the offense more and deservedly so." But Whisenhunt also made it clear that WR Andre Roberts will keep his starting job. It sounds like Floyd will take WR Early Doucet's snaps in 3-WR sets. That's not enough to make him a fantasy option in Arizona's pop-gun passing attack.

The latter is still a Top 25 option at his position, while Floyd is nothing more than a bench player in dynasty leagues. The Raiders have struggled to run the football all year forcing Carson Palmer and the passing game to play well in order to remain competitive. With the way their defense has played of late and the Saints coming to town, you can bet Palmer is in for a day of possibly over 50 passing attempts and that means big things for Denarius Moore.
Moore struggled with hamstring problems this summer and came on slow this season as a result, but in the past five weeks Moore is seventh in the league in targets, with 22 receptions for 392 yards and four touchdowns. Few wide receivers can rival those numbers and with possibly his most favorable game of the year, you can understand why

Each week the Noise highlights 12-13 somewhat obscure, unobvious names who he believes are destined to torch the competition. To qualify, each player must be started in fewer than 60 percent of Yahoo! leagues. Speaking as an accountability advocate, I will post the results, whether genius or moronic, the following week using the scoring system shown here. If you're a member of TEAM HUEVOS, post your Week 11 Flames in the comments section below.

Time to get in character for another week. The ranks in this exercise are not Week 10 fantasy ranks; instead, we're trying to arrange the players based on what we expect from Weeks 10-16. Assume a standard scoring format (non-PPR), and remember the golden rule: no one gains 10-20 percent of bonus value just because they're on your roster.
That established, if you logically construct a sound argument, I'm all ears. I'll add comments, and tweak a rank or two, as the night goes along. It's quarterbacks and wideouts this week; running backs and tight ends get the floor next week.
1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Peyton Manning
3. Drew Brees
4. Matt Ryan
5. Tom Brady
6. Robert Griffin

With Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson suffering injuries last week, the Raiders will be forced to go with the passing game to win. While some will target Taiwan Jones as an option off the waiver wire, full back Marcel Reece should be the first option to target off the waiver wire in the Raiders backfield.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt told reporters that he will play rookie wide receiver Michael Floyd. After only exceeding three targets once in Arizona's previous seven games, Floyd has 18 targets in his last two contests which has yielded him 10 receptions for 116 yards. No. 2 receiver
Andre Roberts is still producing very well with 27 targets, 18 catches for 254 yards and a TD in his last three games. Floyd appears to have overtaken Early Doucet as Arizona's WR3, according to the Arizona Republic. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Floyd isn't worth a roster spot at this time but this is a good sign for dynasty owners. The former Notre Dame stud had little production until recently and the Cardinals' offense is hardly performing well enough
