Arian Foster said he'll most likely be ready for training camp.
Huddle Up: Uh... "most likely"? That sound you here is Ben Tate creeping up fantasy draft boards as a must-handcuff. Still plenty of time before you need to hit the panic button, but given Foster's mileage, Tate's talent, and the Texans' fondness for running the football it's a situation that warrants your attention.

Arian Foster provided an update to the media regarding his strained calf. quot; It's just a small calf strain," he said during the shoot of a Foot Locker Under Armour commercial. When asked if he would be ready for camp,
Foster said, "Yeah, more than likely."
Foster told FOXSports.com that he has been spending an hour or two in a hyperbaric chamber every day. The interview also included some tidbits about his diet and his thoughts about Houston possibly re-signing FB Vonta Leach. FANTASY ANALYSIS: It's a slow offseason and fantasy owners should not be worried about
Foster at this point. If he does miss portions of training camp, concerns would be valid. The 27-year-old back is more or less in his prime. Some of

In terms of total fantasy points scored, where did the Miami Dolphins backfield rank in 2012?
Don’t immediately open another window or look down, cheater. Take a moment. Ponder.
The answer: No. 7, ahead of Baltimore, Tampa and San Francisco, teams often revered for their strong rushing attacks. Shocking, isn’t it?

As most of you know, playing in a fantasy league alongside real-life fantasy experts is a hopeless undertaking. HOPELESS. Zero probability of success. Like challenging a group of bears to a moose-eating contest. Not recommended. You couldn't possibly win. You'd be humiliated. And lucky to survive.
I mean ... we're experts. We only get these jobs because we've each won thousands of leagues, beating tens of thousands of regular humans like yourself.
So please, don't think for an instant that you can handle any of us. I doubt you'd even win a fantasy medal. Spare yourself the embarrassment. Stay away. That's the best advice I can give you.
But still, for whatever reason, some of you seem to think you

Buccaneers running back Doug Martin posted close to 2,000 total yards and 12 touchdowns as a rookie this season. But his head coach, Greg Schiano, wants more, and he thinks Martin can give him more. According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Schiano said Tuesday that Martin quot;looks better physically this year and can improve his game to another level in his second year." FANTASY ANALYSIS: Ben Standig and I talked about Doug Martin and our personal running-back rankings on last week's FFToolbox Podcast. Ben ranked him fifth among RBs; I ranked him third. One of the top reasons Ben gave for ranking Martin below Ray Rice and C.J. Spiller was that while Martin had a great season, the bulk of his production came during a two-week

The team wanted to work out a new deal with the standout blocking back to lower his salary and cap figure, but Leach wanted to stay with his current terms. Fourth-round rookie Kyle Juszczyk is expected to take over as the guy who paves the way for Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Leach had no direct fantasy value -- he touched the ball 57 times during his two years in Baltimore -- but he was the game's best lead blocker last season, according to Pro Football Focus. He has been a first-team All-Pro for three years running. Leach spent five seasons in Houston before coming to the Ravens and played a significant role

In an ultra-fast game where violent collisions are commonplace, catastrophe is just off-tackle. Bone breaks, tendon tears and hamstring pulls are sometimes predictable, though those who fall victim to them often times are not.
Unless that player happens to be Ryan Mathews.
Placed on a pedestal by several fantasy pundits, including yours truly, last summer, San Diego's delicate flower had the outward appearance of a rusher on the brink of a breakout. Widely reported by writers walking the Chargers beat, he had a tremendous offseason, was in line to shoulder a three-down workload and was for all intents and purposes the centerpiece in a Norv Turner offense that helped elevate LaDainian

Like seasonal change, May muscle gain reports and fractured Ryan Mathews bones, busts are an annual occurrence. Since 2007, 4.7 RB1s have finished outside the position’s top-15, leaving a trail of broken hearts and dashed titles in their wake. Last year, Darren McFadden, DeMarco Murray, Matt Forte and, unsurprisingly, Mathews didn’t measure up in standard leagues.

The Texans are making the wise move and playing it safe with their franchise running back.
Arian Foster strained his calf during Tuesday's practice. He made it off the field under his own power before being carted off to the locker room, and head coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday that
Foster is going to be held out until training camp.
Kubiak said, via Tania Ganguli of the Houston Chronicle, that
Foster has a quot;pretty good calf strain" and is currently on crutches but is "going to be fine" when training camp opens in about two months. FANTASY ANALYSIS: People can fret about Foster's injury history -- he dealt with multiple knee injuries in college and had that "anti-awesomeness" hamstring episode back in 2011, which cost him three games.

So this happened: On the very first play of team drills, Texans running back
Arian Foster injured his leg and left practice with head coach Gary Kubiak later described the issue as a calf strain. After watching a few minutes of practice,
Foster was carted to the locker room, though initially reporting make it appear this was done for precautionary reasons. In the context of Houston's two remaining OTA sessions,
Foster is day-to-day. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Between this and the MJD news, not a great day for projected fantasy running backs. In this case, there is obviously plenty of time for rest and recovery in case the strain is something slightly more serious. There is little need for the Texans to push him back into action this week.

It didn't work for the Raiders last year. The Jaguars will see if it works for them this year. And the Steelers are also going to test it out. it's a zone-blocking run scheme, and while the Steelers won't make a full change from their years as power run offense, they want to mix it up in an effort to confuse defenses and keep their offensive line fresh. Now they have to figure out which of their running backs -- Isaac Redman, rookie Le'Veon Bell and Jonathan Dwyer -- works best in that type of system.
FANTASY ANALYSIS: Just because the zone-blocking scheme leads to tremendous success for a player like
Arian Foster doesn't mean those results will be replicated for every team. It's about personnel, and there doesn't seem to be a perfect fit

Most RBs would consider 1,424 rushing yards and a league-leading 17 TDs a career year. Texans RB Arian Foster was disappointed with those 2012 numbers. "I just want to bounce back. I didn’t feel like I had the best season last year," Foster said. "I think this has probably (been) one of my most intense training offseasons I’ve had since I’ve been in the NFL. (I’ve) just refocused and rededicated myself to another level, and hopefully it shows." Foster's work ethic has never been questioned. He also remains the feature back on a run-heavy offense. But in this day and age where instant gratification is constantly sought after, time isn’t of the essence. In locker-rooms, on plasma screens or behind podiums, NFL head coaches typically spew one of three different types of propaganda when discussing expectations for newly acquired players – believable, outlandish and whatever the heck flies out of Jim Schwartz’s mouth.
Over the years, Schwartz has rewarded the football community with several golden nuggets, his comparison of Jahvid Best video clips to “porn” being the best. Baseball has begun, the Masters is right around the corner, and NFL Draft prep is in full swing. So let's get to it and see what's spinning around the fantasy football world these days.

The Texans have signed FB Greg Jones to a 1-year deal. The longtime Jaguar has finished as a top-3 blocker in Pro Football Focus' FB rankings in each of the past 3 seasons. It's a sneaky-good pickup for RB Arian Foster and the Texans. And a noteworthy loss for Jags RB Maurice Jones-Drew.
