Tom Silverstein of Sporting News says that the Packers prefer to stay with Alex Green-despite his 2.4 YPC the last three weeks-as opposed to a transaction that would land trade candidates DeAngelo Williams or Steven Jackson. A trade for either of these running backs would take money out of the pockets of Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews, and B.J. Raji who need contracts this offseason. Huddle Up: Raji, literally, will leave a big hole in the muddle of the Packers' defense if he is unable to play. Green Bay had high hopes of improving its porous defense from a season ago but the preseason hasn't exactly gone as planned with LB and 2011 leading tackler Desmond Bishop already lost for the entire season.
