The Miami Dolphins could look to trade WR Davone Bess during the 2013 NFL Draft if they want to upgrade at their slot receiver position. The team would save $2.7 million if they released Bess this offseason.
Huddle Up: Miami already has a bunch of dough tied up in Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline, so saving on a slot receiver makes sense. Bess is a talented pass-catcher who could be a solid PPR contributor if he winds up in a WCO with a penchant for throwing to the slot man.

Roughly seven weeks ago the final seconds ticked off the Superdome clock. Confetti cascaded from the rafters. A champion was crowned. Baltimore fended off a late-charge by San Francisco to take Super Bowl XLVII. Its fans entered a perpetual state of euphoria. The rest of the pigskin community, however, mourned.
Tears streamed down wing-stained checks. Jerseys went into hibernation. Fantasy discussions around the water-cooler subsided. Life became unfulfilled.
The annual football famine was officially underway.

This is getting a little ridiculous. The Dolphins have brought in another receiver. This time, it's former Rams wideout Brandon Gibson. ESPN's Adam Schefter broke the news, and terms of Gibson's deal are not yet known. He caught 51 passes for 691 yards last season, much of it spent acting as the Rams' No. 2 wide receiver. FANTASY ANALYSIS: However, given what Miami has done in the past couple of days, Gibson won't be anywhere close to a top option in this passing attack. You've got to figure he is behind at least Mike Wallace,
Brian Hartline and newly acquired tight end Dustin Keller in the pecking order. Gibson isn't overly talented, but he provides tremendous depth for this offense. He, much like Davone Bess, probably won't be much of a

The Dolphins have the franchise wide receiver to go with with their franchise quarterback. The news was first reported by NFL Network's Jeff Darlington, who also said that Wallace is currently taking his physical. He is expected to be at Dolphins headquarters later today and will sign the contract at about 6 p.m. Eastern.
Wallace, one of the best deep-threat receivers in the game, had a disappointing 2012 as he caught 64 passes for just 836 yards. But he did have eight touchdowns. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Granted, a lot of Wallace's struggles last year came when Ben Roethlisberger was hurt, and the Steelers' passing

Mike Wallace and the Dolphins must be hoping for Tuesday to just get here already so that they can make one of the worst-kept secrets of free agency official. quot;We hear from somone we trust that it's a 'done deal' that Wallace will be signing with Miami," Volin wrote. FANTASY ANALYSIS: We'll have more on this story tomorrow when it indeed does become official. The Dolphins signed WR Brian Hartline to a 5-year, $30.8 million deal. It's a fair contract for a guy who is coming off his first 1,000-yard season but only has the skill set of a #2 WR. Miami is focusing on adding offensive playmakers this offseason. They're expected to make a strong push for WR Mike Wallace, with WR Greg Jennings as a fallback option. That means Hartline will likely serve as the team's #2 WR in 2013. It's tough to see him accruing weekly WR3 value for fantasy squads in that role.
