Arizona Cardinals DEs Calais Campbell and
Darnell Dockett have expressed optimism over their potential in Todd Bowles' defense. Though the coordinator said there isn't a dramatic difference in the new 3-4, which replaces Ray Horton's from last year, they're changing from two-gap DE attacks to one-gap, opening them up for more outside attacks on offensive linemen instead of merely taking up space.

Dockett said. 'That got me fired up right away because I've been just looking for another opportunity to do what I do best, and that's go out and dominate games.'

Both Jeremy Mincey and Matt Shaughnessy have terrific matchups as the Jaguars and Raiders face off in Oakland this week. Both have had their ups and downs in their careers but we should put them in the lineup this week.
When playing, Shaughnessy has proven to be a DL1 option and we should expect that production going forward.
Mincey on the other hand, had a disappointing day against the Bears, but the Jaguars fell behind early and it put the Bears in a situation to run more high percentage plays, and unfortunately Mincey didn’t get it done in tackles. That can happen even to the best defensive linemen so consider it just a bad day and get him in the lineup

This continues to be a frustrating season for defensive linemen that were considered elite on draft day. Over the years it’s been sound advice to go after one of the top options at this position as your first IDP selection because of the inconsistency at the position overall.
Grab a Jared Allen, Jason Pierre-Paul or Trent Cole and usually that means a no brainier to start weekly. Unfortunately that hasn’t been the case in 2012.
Cole and Jason Babin are struggling as the Eagles prefer to use a rotation on the line. Pierre-Paul was a super star last year and still is today, but unfortunately everyone team in the league knows that now and will continue to

We knew coming into the season the Titans were projected to be thin on the depth chart behind Derrick Morgan and Kamerion Wimbley at defensive end. Both are off to good starts this season and with the Titans defense on the field with regularity, we should look to them as weekly starters.
Both defensive ends were interesting stories coming into this season, but Morgan was the player whom I watched closely in the preseason. Week one, Morgan didn’t look great but came away with a sack against the Seahawks. That said, his intensity off the ball was much better against the Buccaneers and Cardinals.

Talk about a great kickoff weekend for defensive linemen as many of the top-flight studs have favorable matchups. To get the party started we have Jason Pierre-Paul, Just Tuck and Osi Umenyiora will face off against a Cowboys offensive line that has serious continuity issues.
Not good for Tony Romo, and even if the veteran quarterback is precise with his pre-snap reads it’s likely he will have a few busted plays and these lineman will re-introduce him to the Giants home field, literally.
Speaking of MetLife Stadium, the Jets will also host a home game this weekend as Mario Williams and the Bills imposing front four come to town. Look for Williams and Mark Anderson to harass Mark Sanchez as the Jets right tackle

Only time will tell, but it appears he will earn a three down role right away, and while he probably won’t play the same high snap count we saw from Sheard, his prospects of a breakout rookie year are encouraging.
With emerging star Jeremy Mincey playing opposite bookend, expect opposing offenses to focus on the veteran is the first option for double teams and chips.
Branch was one of the better pass rushers in college last year, and while I don’t expect him to reach double digits, he was brought into Jacksonville

No, I wouldn’t go as far as to say that Tuck had the kind of performance that would make me believe he’s a DL-1 play going forward, but he’s worthy of using in your lineup.
What I can say is that Tuck probably looked as good on video as he has in awhile and that could suggest he’s ready to have a breakout game soon. This week the Giants will be in an all-important division game against the Cowboys, and Tuck is worthy of a DL-2 ranking, as he should have opportunities against an offensive line that made the Cardinals

Finally, the stretch of games we’ve been waiting for from Elvis Dumervil as put up over one sack in each of his past two games, and at least half a sack in the past four weeks. Looking healthy, Dumervil may be counted on as the teams top pass rusher this week, if Von Miller can’t play because of thumb surgery, the Broncos will need their star defensive end to continue playing at a Pro Bowl level to win.
That’s likely to happen against a rookie quarterback in Christian Ponder, so get Dumervil in the lineup as a weekly starter going forward.

Chris Clemons vs. Redskins -
In the world that is defensive linemen, a good pass rusher can have a horrible stretch of games, but he’s only one matchup away from an explosion and that was the case for Chris Clemons last week. Clemons was actually on my sit’em list last week, not because of his tasty matchup against the Rams, but more because of his failure to get much done in recent weeks.
Like Jason Babin, Clemons made me look foolish for doubting him as his big-play ability stepped up with three sacks, and he’s clearly a start against Rex Grossman at home. Clemons relies on the big-play to get his points, but the same can be said for many linemen in IDP leagues.
Usually when we see a good pass rusher

While Charles Johnson has put up a sack in just about every game this year, he’s been a disappointment in his tackle numbers to say the least. Johnson was one of the better defensive ends for tackles last year, but he’s still worth using as is fellow defensive end Greg Hardy this week. The Lions will likely try to run the football more this week, but don’t be surprised if they throw the football over 60 percent of the time, and that means opportunities for Hardy and Johnson in the pass rush.

Since moving to defensive tackle a couple of weeks ago, rookie Marcell Dareus has become the impact player we hoped he would be coming out of Alabama. Playing with confidence, Dareus has put together DL-1 type numbers, especially for tackle heavy leagues. Veteran tackle Kyle Williams is done for the year, leaving Dareus likely to stay on the inside for the remainder of the season, and that is a good thing for his IDP value.
Williams was always a productive player in the Bills defense over the years, and Dareus should have no problems averaging at least five tackles a week, with some big plays sprinkled in. Consider him one of the better tackles to start if you use that position in your league,

For all the success Justin Tuck had a year ago, the big man has had a hard time playing at full speed with lingering injury problems this year. Tuck finally returned to action last week but failed to get much done as he only totaled one tackle but did pick up half a sack.
The Giants head out to New England to face an opponent they know very well, as Tom Brady was harassed by Tuck and fellow linemen in the 2008 Super Bowl. Pressure on Brady was the key to winning that game, and I’m sure the Giants will look to do it again.
While Tuck could have a strong game, it’s likely that he’s just a DL-3 play at best until we can actually see him look like the defender we’ve come to know in
