Lions RB Jahvid Best (concussions) is not participating in OTAs.  He's not ready to give up on his football career just yet, but he still hasn't been medically cleared.  The odds of that happening anytime soon (or ever again?) seem slim.  Detroit's move to bring in RB Reggie Bush was a clear indication that they're not expecting to get anything out of Best. The 2010 first-round pick is off the fantasy radar.

Lions RB Jahvid Best told the Baltimore Sun that he still hopes to play in 2013.  He indicated that doctors have yet to clear him to return from the concussion issues of 2011.  But they also apparently haven't ruled him out.  If Best does make it back to the field, he might have a hard time doing so in Detroit.  The Lions, of course, signed similarly skilled RB Reggie Bush in free agency.

Updating a previous item, the Lions have not completely ruled out RB Jahvid Best for the rest of the season.  According to the team's official statement, Best "will not be permitted to return to play at this time."  HC Jim Schwartz added that "time hasn't run out" on Best's 2012 season.  We'd still consider him an extreme long shot to play this year though.  He's a year removed from his last concussion and still hasn't been medically-cleared.  Plus, the Lions would need to use a roster spot to keep him eligible for this season.  Look for Best to be placed on the IR within the next week or two.  We'd only hang on to him in dynasty formats and the deepest of redraft leagues.

Ahmad Bradshaw was only he second running back to go over 100 yards in a game against the 49ers in San Francisco’s last 44 contests. The other running back, Marshawn Lynch who did so late last season. Both running backs also found the end zone against the 49ers, which is also a tough thing to do.
