Huddle Up: Avant, entering his 8th season in Philly, appears to have plateaued somewhat with 51, 52 and 53 catches, respectively, over the past 3 seasons. The Andy Reid offense is out, though, and the Chip Kelly regime is moving in, and it'll be interesting to see how that shakes out for a deep Eagles WR corps that includes Avant, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper and newcomer Arrelious Benn.

The Eagles have acquired WR Arrelious Benn and a 7th-round pick from the Bucs in exchange for a 6th-round pick and a conditional pick in 2014. Benn was the 39th overall pick back in 2010 but has struggled with injuries and totaled just 59 receptions in 3 seasons. In Philly, he'll battle with Jason Avant, Riley Cooper and Damaris Johnson for scraps behind Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson. Benn could see a decent amount of playing time in HC Chip Kelly's spread attack, but he's a long shot to provide any fantasy value.

Over the last few days, dozens of NFL players have decided where they will call home this season. Wide receiver Arrelious Benn's home for 2013 has been chosen for him. Benn was traded by the Buccaneers to the Eagles on Friday. He goes to Philadelphia along with a 2013 seventh-round pick. The Buccaneers received the Eagles' sixth-rounder this year and a 2014 conditional pick in return.
Benn, a second-round draft pick in 2010, hasn't exceeded 30 catches or 500 yards in any of his three NFL seasons.
This swap comes one day after Tampa Bay signed wide receiver Kevin Ogletree. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Yes, Benn is a bust. But he has speed, and that works in Chip Kelly's scheme. That doesn't mean Benn will be worth a notice in fantasy drafts. Philly is

Heading into Super Bowl showdowns for many fantasy leagues it’s probably not a good time to say this is the weakest week for waiver options throughout the entire season, but that’s exactly what we have. Outside of an opportunity opening up in San Diego because of anther collarbone injury to Ryan Mathews, there’s really nothing to discuss at running back if this is your final week of action.
Our best chances for help come from defense and possibly rookie receiver Rod Streater as the Raiders figure to play from behind in Carolina.

If you happened to draft Brandon Lloyd this past summer like I did, you’ve probably been shaking your head when watching the Patriots play on prime-time television the past two weeks as the veteran has looked like a Pro Bowl star. In that time Lloyd has been targeted a whopping 25-times, hauling in 17-receptions for 279-yards a score and even picking up a fumble recovery in the end zone for another touchdown.
Problem is, many of you didn’t have him in your lineup let alone on your team at this point, after Lloyd struggled throughout the season and was demoted out of two receiver sets against the Dolphins and Colts.

While many have made the case for Michael Crabtree being a first round bust, it appears the 4th year receiver is starting to come into his own. Early signs in the off-season suggested this could be a breakout year for Crabtree, if for no other reason than he finally overcame his problematic foot issues.
For the first-time Crabtree actually played in a preseason game this August, and thankfully his foot ailments appear to be a thing of the past.
The best thing that ever happened for Crabtree was Alex Smith’s demotion in the middle of the season. It’s not that Crabtree and Smith weren’t having success together, but more that Colin Kaepernick has the

Finally! Dynasty owners like myself with David Wilson on their bench have been waiting for the ultra talented rookie to receive an opportunity to show case what he can do. Earlier in the season he had a long touchdown run against the Browns, but because of early fumbling issues and pass protection concerns, Andre Brown moved past Wilson on the depth chart.
Brown was placed on injured reserve a few weeks back and the Giants countered with Craig Lumpkin as added depth. Lumpkin saw a few snaps against the Redskins, but the Giants decided to use Ahmad Bradshaw as the teams feature back again as a counter to the Brown’s injury, rather than working Wilson in as a

Among Murray's 21 rushing attempts Sunday, his longest gain was seven yards, although in fairness the Bengals are actually the best team in the NFL at limiting long runs, as they've allowed just five carries for 20+ yards and zero for 40+ on the year…BenJarvus Green-Ellis had one carry that went at least 30 yards during his career entering Week 12. The Chargers finally picked up a win and did so against a playoff caliber team, on the road. While Danario Alexander started off slow, he eventually had his way with the Steelers secondary picking up seven receptions for 88-yards and two touchdowns.
Alexander has done a terrific job in the short passing game, crossing routes and big plays down the field. Those of you that watched the Chargers play the Steelers on Sunday also know he has terrific balance and body control when going up in the air on 50/50 balls against a defender. This makes him a dangerous man inside the red zone and like his first touchdown, his body control around the sidelines allowed him to leap

At this point in the season any running back help is a good thing. When you have a chance to pickup a running back that could see a feature back role, it’s even more important to give them a look. Consider Alex Green of the Packers and Montell Owens of the Jaguars as such options this week.

To be perfectly honest, the Eagles quarterback situation is no more interesting to me right now than the QB dilemmas facing the Jets and Cardinals. I've made a few managerial missteps this year, but at least I've successfully avoided a dependence on Michael Vick. Hopefully you've done the same.
Still, when Philadelphia's offense makes news, we're duty-bound to discuss it. So...
On Monday, lame duck Philly head coach Andy Reid announced that rookie Nick Foles will remain the Eagles starting quarterback, even when Vick returns from his concussion. Foles is coming off a good-not-great day against Dallas,

According to Eagles insider Jeff McLane, WR Riley Cooper will move into the starting lineup with WR DeSean Jackson (ribs) out for the year. It makes sense. Cooper has NFL size at 6'3 and 222 pounds. Rookie Damaris Johnson is a pint-sized 5'8, 170 pounds, while Jason Avant has always been a slot guy. Cooper racked up 13 catches, 240 yards, and 1 TD in 3 starts last season. But as long as Nick Foles is under center, Cooper won't be a recommended fantasy option.

Eagles HC Andy Reid revealed that WR DeSean Jackson fractured his ribs during Monday night's loss to the Panthers. D-Jax will be placed on IR, ending his 2012 campaign. It might be a blessing in disguise for fantasy owners. Jackson wasn't helping much anyways, topping 62 yards just once in his last 5 games. Philly might be ready to give rookie WR Damaris Johnson a shot to replace Jackson on the outside. He's averaged 15.8 yards per catch in limited action this season. WRs Jason Avant and Riley Cooper will also help pick up the slack. But none of these guys will be immediate fantasy starters in Philly's fledgling passing game. WR Jeremy Maclin will dominate targets the rest of the way.

If you asked me to name one group of humans that isn't exactly known for its patience, I'd offer up Philly fans. But those are the folks who now need to avoid making snap judgments on Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles. We'll see how that goes.
Michael Vick suffered an early concussion on Sunday, so Foles finally made his regular season debut, directing Andy Reid's offense for two-and-a-half quarters. Foles was a preseason star for Philadelphia, earning the understudy role with a terrific exhibition campaign. As the losses have piled up for the Eagles, so have calls to give the third-rounder a chance.
And now we have tape to analyze, stats to review. As is often the case with

Time to get in character for another week. The ranks in this exercise are not Week 10 fantasy ranks; instead, we're trying to arrange the players based on what we expect from Weeks 10-16. Assume a standard scoring format (non-PPR), and remember the golden rule: no one gains 10-20 percent of bonus value just because they're on your roster.
That established, if you logically construct a sound argument, I'm all ears. I'll add comments, and tweak a rank or two, as the night goes along. It's quarterbacks and wideouts this week; running backs and tight ends get the floor next week.
