Report: Texans WR DeVier Posey will begin regular season on Physically Unable To Perform list

This is not unexpected considering that Texans wide receiver DeVier Posey would be less than nine months removed from surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon by Week 1, but here it is. ESPN's Adam Schefter has been told by a league source that Posey will open the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list. That means he will miss at least the first six games on the schedule. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Posey was a third-round selection a year ago and caught six passes in 11 games as a rookie. If he was healthy right now, perhaps Houston would have a different view of its receiving corps heading into this draft, but a difference-making addition was needed either way. Now they have DeAndre Hopkins to go with Posey,
Keshawn Martin, and Lestar

One of the earliest moves during Tuesday's wild day of roster movement around the NFL was one of the most obvious. The Texans let go of wide receiver Kevin Walter, who had been with the team since 2006. Walter was due to make $3.15 million this season, but the Texans cleared $2.5 million in cap space by cutting him. Walter, who has been the Texans' No. 2 wideout since 2007, caught just 41 passes for 518 yards and two touchdowns last season. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Walter is entering his age-32 season, and although he has blocking skills that some team will covet, he's just not very productive any longer. The Texans desperately need a more explosive option in their starting lineup next to Andre Johnson. Lestar Jean or
Keshawn Martin could be that

The Texans have released WR Kevin Walter. The 31-year-old has gone from low impact to non-factor in fantasy football the past 2 years. He caught just 41 balls in 2012 after 39 the year before. Walter scored just 5 total TDs over the 2 seasons. His departure would be good news for WR Devier Posey, but the 2012 rookie suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in the playoff loss to New England. WR Lestar Jean and WR Keshawn Martin remain as candidates to start opposite WR Andre Johnson. Expect the Texans to address the position in free agency and/or the draft.

The Houston Texans must look to add a No. 2 receiving option in the offseason who can help take pressure off of WR Andre Johnson. There was a 71-catch difference between the number of balls Johnson caught (112) and the second-best wide receiver caught (WR Kevin Walter, 41) this past season.
Huddle Up: The Texans added a trio of young wideouts -- DeVier Posey, Lestar Jean and Keshawn Martin -- last offseason and they might just bank on one of three stepping forward rather thancommiting more resources to the position. If they do add another WR, though, it figures to be an older, experienced vet.

Texans WR DeVier Posey suffered a torn Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. The 3rd-round rookie was coming on late in the year and hauled in his first NFL TD against New England. But the Achilles injury puts his status for the start of the 2013 season in jeopardy. It's an injury that often takes a full year to recover from. Houston is dangerously thin at WR, with only Kevin Walter, Lestar Jean, and Keshawn Martin behind Andre Johnson on the depth chart. They'll likely address the position through free-agency and/or the draft.

The Texans aren't exactly stocked at wide receiver. Past Andre Johnson, they have Kevin Walter, who will turn 32 prior to next season and ... a blank space waiting to be filled by someone. The hope was third-round rookie DeVier Posey could take that step up next season. Now the Texans will be fortunate if Posey plays much at all next year. Posey tore an Achilles' tendon with about six minutes remaining in Sunday's playoff loss to the Patriots. After the game, he told John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, quot;It felt like I got shot. I've never felt anything like it."
Posey caught three passes for 47 yards and a touchdown on the day. He caught just six passes in 11 games during the regular season. FANTASY ANALYSIS: The Texans need a

Since returning from injury, DeMarco Murray has 44 carries for 136 yards, good for a 3.1 YPC mark, although he's salvaged fantasy value by scoring twice. Among Murray's 21 rushing attempts Sunday, his longest gain was seven yards, although in fairness the Bengals are actually the best team in the NFL at limiting long runs, as they've allowed just five carries for 20+ yards and zero for 40+ on the year…BenJarvus Green-Ellis had one carry that went at least 30 yards during his career entering Week 12. He's had runs for 48, 41 and 38 yards in each of his past three games, respectively…Assuming you weren't on bye, A.J. Green sure picked a bad week to have his worst game of the

Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub went 43-for-55 for 527 yards, a career-high five touchdowns and two interceptions against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11. His 527 yards tied for the second most in NFL history and his 43 completions set a franchise record.
Huddle Up: The Jags obviously came into the game focused on slowing Arian Foster and the Texans' running game, and they did just that, limiting Foster to 77 yards and no TDs on 28 carries (2.8 average), but Schaub had his way, tossing TD passes to Keshawn Martin, James Casey Garrett Graham (twice) and Andre Johnson. Schaub came into the contest averaging 223.7 passing yards and 1.4 TDs per outing.

Houston Texans wide receiver Lestar Jean, an early pre-season deep sleeper, had arthroscopic knee surgery on Tuesday and is out until Week 5 at the very earliest. quot;Lestar was in here an hour after surgery," head coach Gary Kubiak said. "He's up and around and doing good today. He's 100 percent committed to the treatment." The Texans are optimistic that he will be able to return in two weeks. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Behind Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter, Houston was hoping that Jean could step up and provide the team a new wrinkle to their offense. With him out, look for the Texans to use more power formations using multiple backs or tight ends. Rookie
Keshawn Martin is now the No. 3 receiver, but his expereience is obviously limited after

Keshawn Martin behind starters Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter.

By now, your fantasy football draft is probably over. However, that doesn't mean that your work is done.
Week 1 will pass. Waiver wires will open up, and fantasy football owners will scramble to acquire any players they may have been wrong about.
Players like this can make or break a fantasy owner's season. Anyone can pick Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald, but who can find that hidden gem?
Let's take a look at three wide receivers you must pick up once waiver wires open.
Keshawn Martin
Martin had seven catches for 72 yards and a touchdown in the preseason, and he will be productive with Houston in the regular season as well.
He's going to start in the slot at
