The Denver Broncos have employed a next-man-up attitude at running back this year after RB Willis McGahee (knee) went down, and the team has been successful with RB Knowshon Moreno in his absence. Their 114.5 yards rushing per game ranks seventh in the league. RB Ronnie Hillman fumbled early in the team's Week 17 game and was benched for the rest of the game in favor of RBs
Lance Ball and Jacob Hester. Denver still managed to run for 172 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in that contest. 'If you want to say one thing that's great about this team, it's that nobody's selfish,'
Ball said. 'That's what you need to have a championship team.'

Ladies and gentlemen we have a Knowshon Moreno sighting. I may be crazy, but I I may be crazy, but I believe in this guy. It looks like Moreno has climbed his way out of John Fox’s dog house, and with Willis McGahee on IR, he’s going to be the guy moving forward. Ronnie Hillman just isn’t an every down back, and I don’t think Lance Lance Ball will be a factor. The 25 year old, former George Bulldog is one of the most athletically gifted running backs in the league, and I think he’ll make the most out of this opportunity. Opposing defenses will have to honor THE Peyton Manning first, leaving Moreno with fewer men in the box. It’s getting cold up at the Mile High City, and the Broncos will run the ball more. Moreno totaled 111 total yards last week, and I’d absolutely pick him up going forward. I’d even say he’s worth a start in any upcoming game.

The Broncos threw us a curveball on Sunday as we found out Knowshon Moreno, not rookie Ronnie Hillman would be the starter against Kansas City. Talk throughout the week made it seem that Denver would use a three back committee with Moreno, Hillman and Lance Ball but that strategy proved to be false when you look at the snap count distribution throughout the game.
Hillman played all of seven snaps, Ball only one as Moreno saw a feature back work load with 55 snaps,

The Denver Broncos signed FB Jacob Hester on Monday, and he will serve as the team's short-yardage back. RB Knowshon Moreno will continue to serve as the featured back.
Huddle Up: Short-yardage likely means goal-line back, thereby cutting into Moreno's fantasy's value. Also with the short-yardage and starting roles defined, it doesn't sound as if there will be much left for fellow backs Ronnie Hillman and Lance Ball.

RB Knowshon Moreno got the start Sunday for the Denver Broncos and ran for a
team-high 85 yards on 20 carries in the Week 12 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
He also added 4 receptions for 26 yards.
Huddle Up: When assessing who would be the primary replacement for injured starter Willis
McGahee, Moreno was third on the majority of lists behind rookie Ronnie Hillman
and Lance Ball. After all, Moreno had been a healthy inactive the previous eight
games, but Hillman (3-9) and Lance Ball (0-0) were almost complete non-factors
Sunday, and Moreno, who is regarded to be the superior pass-protector of the 3
backs, looks like the main man in the Mile High City going forward.

The Broncos have listed RB Knowshon Moreno as their starter for today's game against the Chiefs. It's surprising news considering Moreno has been a healthy scratch for most of the year. But it's clear that he'll be involved now that RB Willis McGahee is out. This will still be a committee attack, though, with Moreno, Ronnie Hillman, and Lance Ball all seeing action. Hillman remains the best fantasy bet, but he should now be considered a risk/reward RB3 or flex. Ditto for Moreno.

As the biggest favorites in a game so far this season, it was more than a little surprising to see the Texans down 34-20 in the fourth quarter to a Jaguars team that has won once this year. Willis McGahee - McGahee doesn't think injury is serious
Source: The Huddle
Denver Broncos RB Willis McGahee does not believe the knee injury he suffered in Week 11 is serious, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. McGahee is scheduled to have an MRI Monday, Nov. 19. If McGahee can't play, he'd likely be replaced by RB Ronnie Hillman in the lineup. The backup would be RB
Lance Ball.
Huddle Up: McGahee would certainly know a serious knee injury when he saw one. If you've been banking on Willis you'll definitely need to add Hillman as insurance, but cross your fingers that the news will be good and McGahee won't miss any game action.

Denver Broncos RB Willis McGahee left Sunday's Week 11 game in the second
quarter after taking a shot to the knee and didn't return.
Huddle Up: McGahee, the Broncos' clear No. 1 back and leading rusher, was off to a solid start
with 55 rushing yards on 7 carries and a 18 more on a reception before he left the
game. Rookie Ronnie Hillman and journeyman Lance Ball took over the RB duties.
McGahee's injury appeared to be a contusion more than anything else, but stay

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman set career highs in Week 8 with 14 carries and 86 yards in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints. 'I've said all along, Ronnie's a guy we thought very highly of and that's why we drafted him,' head coach John Fox said. As Hillman continues to adapt to the NFL in practice, Fox feels more comfortable using him in the game.
Huddle Up: Hillman is definitely a player on the rise as a complement to starter Willis McGahee. Meanwhile, fellow reserves Knowshon Moreno and Lance Ball have almost completely faded from the picture, leaving the third-down duties to Hillman, who will continue to get work barring fumbles and pass-protection issues.

The Broncos rookie running back Ronnie Hillman was a much talked about player throughout the summer as a potential sleeper to stash in the later rounds of your fantasy draft. Early in camp, Hillman suffered a hamstring injury that lingered for a few weeks and the rookie lost valuable time and started the season as the fourth string running back behind Willias McGahee, Lance Ball and Knowshon Moreno.
Moreno worked in passing situations but failed to impress, while Ball gave the Broncos steady play when called upon. Eventually, Hillman was going to find the active roster and because of Moreno’s play, the former first-round pick was a healthy inactive by the end of

Both Felix Jones and Montario Hardesty were high draft picks for their respective teams, but health problems have plagued their careers. Ironically we could see both running backs starting this week, because of injuries to Trent Richardson and DeMarco Murray.
