In an ultra-fast game where violent collisions are commonplace, catastrophe is just off-tackle. Bone breaks, tendon tears and hamstring pulls are sometimes predictable, though those who fall victim to them often times are not.
Unless that player happens to be Ryan Mathews.
Placed on a pedestal by several fantasy pundits, including yours truly, last summer, San Diego's delicate flower had the outward appearance of a rusher on the brink of a breakout. Widely reported by writers walking the Chargers beat, he had a tremendous offseason, was in line to shoulder a three-down workload and was for all intents and purposes the centerpiece in a Norv Turner offense that helped elevate LaDainian

Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler said Wednesday, Dec. 26, RB Matt Forte (ankle) appears to be walking around the team's facility fine and is optimistic he will play in Week 17.
Huddle Up: Forte has played through injury before, but not terribly effectively. Considering Khalil Bell was only brought back because of Michael Bush's injury, the Bears need all the help they can get in trying to reach the postseason. Whether or not Forte does anything for your fantasy team is a different matter, but the matchup isn't bad.

Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mike Tice said the team could use RB Kahlil Bell in short-yardage and goal-line situations in Week 16 in place of RB Matt Forte. RB
Michael Bush (ribs) is out for the season.
Our View: Forte struggles in short yardage situations. Forte has one touchdown on eight goal-to-go carries this season, giving him just 10 touchdowns on 94 such carries during his career.

The Bears have placed RB Michael Bush (ribs) on IR, ending his 2012 campaign. He's been dealing with a nagging rib injury that's limited him to 15 snaps and 1 carry over the past 2 weeks. His loss means RB Matt Forte will continue to dominate backfield work, including goal line action. The problem is that he's scored on just 2 of 8 carries from inside the 10-yard line. Still, Bush's absence certainly isn't bad news for Forte's fantasy value the rest of the way.

One assumption I'm making with this exercise: I don't think Shady McCoy plays again in 2012. I also don't think there's anything fluky about Bryce Brown: he's quick, he's powerful, and he's making things work despite a patchwork Philadelphia offensive line. He needs to get a hold on the fumbling problem, but otherwise, he's

Most reports indicate Matt Forte might be out or at the very least limited for Week 13, which means running back Michael Bush should get the majority of carries in the run heavy Bears offense. With that said, if he is on your waiver wire you may want to spend a heavy percentage of your FAAB to get him. If you own him outright, he is a solid RB2 option this week if you consider the following:
1. In week three with Forte out, Bush was able to get 18 carries for 55 yards and a TD.
2. In week twelve, even with Forte getting 14 carries, Bush still managed to get 21 carries + 2 TD’s
3. Overall, Bush (5) has more TD’s on the season than Forte (3)
Also if you are worried about the Seahawks rushing defense, don’t be. They are allowing an average of 1 rushing touchdown per game over their last four games.

One of the top prospects in the nation coming out of high school, it looked like Bryce Brown was headed towards a promising college career, but it didn’t work out that way. If things would’ve gone according to plan we could’ve seen Brown as a first-round pick last spring, instead he was a seventh-round pick that the Eagles took a chance on.
For all the problems Andy Reid’s team has had this year, one move that clearly paid off was bringing Brown to Philadelphia. Brown outplayed Dion Lewis and Chris Polk to run away with the backup role to LeSean McCoy and had earned more time on the field, before McCoy’s concussion a few weeks ago.
