Their O-Line has been banged up all season and it makes it difficult for the rush game and the passing game to produce at a high level.

We should have a wild one in Denver as the Saints and Broncos matchup on Sunday night. The Broncos defensive backs benefited from big plays against the Chargers and this week Tracy Porter, Rahim Moore and Mike Adams all make the my defensive backs rankings. Just keep an eye on Porter’s availability before the game.

Champ Bailey is another option to roll the dice with but I’m sure Drew Brees like many quarterbacks will only go his way every so often.

If there was anything for Chargers fans to feel good about following Monday night's collapse (obviously there wasn't, not really, but let's just fake it), then the reemergence of Antonio Gates was that thing. Gates hauled in six balls on 10 targets, visiting the end zone twice and finishing with 81 receiving yards. And he nearly decapitated Denver's Mike Adams. He totaled 20.1 standard fantasy points in Week 6, which represents 58.4 percent of his year-to-date scoring. Better late than never, I suppose.

Tyvon Branch is struggling to post big-play numbers but if the Raiders offense continues to have problems, his numbers should be around the top five at his position by seasons end.

From unwanted free agent to starter two years in a row

For the second consecutive year, Max Starks will hold down what football people say is the second-most important position on offense, left tackle. He sat out the first four games of 2011 while the Steelers came to the realization that Jonathan Scott and Trai Essex weren't left tackles. They signed Starks again, and he started the rest of the way until his ACL was torn in January in a playoff loss. He became a free agent again in March, and the Steelers waited until the eve of training camp to sign him, for one year at the veteran minimum. (

Pittsburgh Steelers OG David DeCastro (knee) was carted off the field after suffering a right knee injury in the third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 25, and will not return. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin later said the injury potentially could be severe, but there was no definitive prognosis.
Huddle Up: By most accounts, this doesn't look good for the Steelers' first-round pick out of Stanford. Pittsburgh is hoping to upgrade its offensive front after allowing 42 sacks and ranking 14th in the league in rushing a year ago, and DeCastro and second-round pick Mike Adams, an OT from Ohio State, are key parts of those plans.

Jacob Tamme re-kindling chemistry with Manning

Broncos TE Jacob Tamme has been one of QB Peyton Manning's favorite targets in camp so far.  That's not surprising considering the duo hooked up 67 times in Indianapolis back in 2010.  "A fast guy, looks like a receiver type," is how S Mike Adams described Tamme.  He should provide Manning with a reliable target over the middle of the field, although we're expecting WRs Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker to be the primary playmakers in the passing game.  Tamme will also be competing for targets with TE Joel Dreessen.  We recognize the potential upside Tamme brings to the table, but we're not willing to bet on it at his current 8.04 ADP.

2012 Fantasy Football Profile and Projection: Steelers WR Antonio Brown

Steelers receiver Antonio Brown had a breakout season in his second year.

After posting 16 receptions for 167 yards as a rookie, Brown finished second on the team in both receptions (69) and yards (1,108) last year and trailed Mike Wallace by only three receptions and 85 yards for the team lead. Although he had only two (receiving) touchdowns, he ranked 15th in the league in yards.

Brown is not a big receiver (5-foot-10, 186 pounds), which means he's unlikely to ever approach Wallace's touchdown numbers, an average of eight scores per season.

Here’s one way baseball could take cues from fantasy baseball.  Yesterday, the Marlins announced that they’d be going to a closer-by-committee, which puts Steve Cishek in line for saves.  If they had a fantasy baseballer (<–my mom’s term!) running their club, things would’ve been different down in South Florida.  About two months ago, the Marlins would’ve dropped Bell for Cishek, then they would’ve traded Reyes for Adam Dunn and Cozart, dropped and picked up Josh Johnson four times, asked Stanton to catch for the eligibility and changed their team name seven times, finally going with the Miami Turdsuckers.  In other closer news, Carlos Marmol is actually being a decent closer, but I’ll believe it after another two
