Not that such a result would create much shock given the player in question and the offense in which he operates, but still. Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said Tuesday that Reggie Bush quot;could potentially catch 60-70-80 passes" this season, via DetroitLions.com writer Tim Twentyman. FANTASY ANALYSIS: That's a lot of receptions, but it's not totally out of this world for Bush. He caught 88 passes as a rookie and then 73 passes in 12 games the following year. Yes, that was seven seasons ago, but Bush is still a top-notch receiving back, and the Lions are still going to throw it a ton. Consider two things:
One, Joique Bell caught 52 passes for the Lions last year. Is it really inconceivable that a more-talented RB who is still in his prime

Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew did not practice for the second consecutive day Thursday. The fourth-year vet is dealing with an ankle injury that forced an early exit during Detroit's eventual loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Lions are already without Titus Young, Nate Burleson, and Ryan Broyles as each player has been placed on injured reserve. Second-year wideout Kris Durham, a former teammate at Georgia with Matthew Stafford, should see a big increase in playing time, as well as

Since returning from injury, DeMarco Murray has 44 carries for 136 yards, good for a 3.1 YPC mark, although he's salvaged fantasy value by scoring twice. Among Murray's 21 rushing attempts Sunday, his longest gain was seven yards, although in fairness the Bengals are actually the best team in the NFL at limiting long runs, as they've allowed just five carries for 20+ yards and zero for 40+ on the year…BenJarvus Green-Ellis had one carry that went at least 30 yards during his career entering Week 12. Titus Young inside the Detroit Lions' organization appears to be fading fast. Lions coach Jim Schwartz told MLive.com on Wednesday that his exiled wide receiver is scheduled for upcoming knee surgery, "unless he doesn't show up for it." Chalk it up as a not-so-subtle jab at Young, who was placed on injured reserve this week, putting an end to one of the more troubling sophomore outings in Lions history. At this point in the season any running back help is a good thing. When you have a chance to pickup a running back that could see a feature back role, it’s even more important to give them a look. Consider Alex Green of the Packers and Montell Owens of the Jaguars as such options this week.

The Lions have placed WR Titus Young on IR, ending his 2012 season. The team labeled it a knee injury, but it might as well be "attitude." Besides his inconsistent production, Young sabotaged the team by getting into fights with teammates and coaches and reportedly lining up in the wrong spot on purpose a few weeks ago. His tenure in Detroit might be over. WR Mike Thomas is expected to start opposite Calvin Johnson the rest of the way.

Aaron Hernandez barely finished inside the top-10 at his position in Week 13 fantasy scoring, and he failed to visit the end zone. Thus, I won't try to convince you that he carried anyone into the fantasy playoffs, single-handedly. In fact, Hernandez had a somewhat sloppy day, with an ugly drop on the Patriots' opening series, plus another near-catch that skipped off his outstretched hands (and, if caught, would have resulted in a touchdown). The Jaguars have traded WR Mike Thomas to the Lions. No word on what's heading back to Jacksonville, but it's likely a late-round pick. Thomas totaled 114 catches and 1,273 yards in his first 2 seasons but faded in 2011 and has been non-existent this year. He has the hands and quickness to succeed as a slot guy, but we doubt he'll pass WR Ryan Broyles on Detroit's depth chart. Don't bother adding Thomas in fantasy.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey said WR Laurent Robinson (concussion) still has not passed a concussion test at this point. It appears Robinson will not be able to play Week 7.
Huddle Up: This was, perhaps, Robinson's best matchup of the season considering the health of the Raiders defensive backfield. If he cannot go, perhaps Mike Thomas will have a fluky good game. That is a roll of the roulette wheel if we have ever seen one, though.
