Well, we finally made it. Another NFL season is here and I, for one, am ecstatic. No more talking about
Nick Toon and Terrance Ganaway. No more pretending we care who wins the fifth receiver job in Dallas. We're back to caring about Megatron and Jimmy Graham. In other words, the fantasy season has finally arrived.

The Saints have placed WR Nick Toon on IR. The rookie had an impressive spring but was plagued by a foot injury for most of August. Toon had foot issues throughout 2011, too, so it's becoming a long-term concern. He'll use 2012 as a "redshirt" year and hope to contribute next season. Greg Camarillo was released on Friday, so Devery Henderson is locked-in as New Orleans' #3 WR.

The Saints have signed WR Greg Camarillo. They're looking for some depth at the position with Devery Henderson struggling, Nick Toon dealing with foot issues, and Adrian Arrington sidelined after knee surgery. Camarillo caught just 29 total passes over the last 2 years in Minnesota, but he does have a couple 50-catch seasons to his name. He could open the season as the Saints' #4 WR but would need to move a notch higher to be a reliable fantasy option.

Saints WR Adrian Arrington underwent knee surgery on Monday. No further details are available, and there's no timetable for his return. It crushes any chance Arrington had at winning New Orleans' #3 WR job. With rookie Nick Toon struggling with a bum foot, Devery Henderson is a near-lock to enter the season as the 3rd WR. We still like Toon to eventually move ahead of him in the pecking order though.

Once a promising prospect, New Orleans Saints WR Adrian Arrington has reportedly met with renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews to have his knee injury (meniscus) evaluated. This is yet another in a long series of setbacks for Arrington who has battled a laundry list injuries ever since he signed with the Saints back in 2008. The departure of WR Robert Meachem (San Diego Chargers) opened up the WR4 role in New Orleans and Arrington was a leading candidate to step up.

FANTASY ANALYSIS: If a procedure is needed, the difference between a scope and full-blown surgery is drastic. A simple scope could have Arrington back relatively early in the season. A deeper more complicated cut could

Devery Henderson the #3 WR... for now

According to beat writer James Varney, Devery Henderson is locked-in as the Saints' #3 WR behind Marques Colston and Lance Moore. It's not a surprise considering the 2 guys behind him on the depth chart, Adrian Arrington and Nick Toon, have a combined 9 NFL catches. Henderson should enter the season 3rd on the depth chart, but that may not last. He's 30 years old now and has never been much more than a situational deep threat. He's only topped 34 catches once in 8 seasons. Toon looks like the biggest threat to Henderson's spot. The 4th-round rookie goes 6'2 and 215 pounds with sticky hands. He had an impressive spring and could force the Saints to give him more playing time as the season progresses. We wouldn't spend a

New Orleans Saints WRs Marques Colston and Lance Moore are considered the only real certainties for spots on the 53-man roster, with several battling for jobs in training camp and the preseason. WR Joseph Morgan is considered the biggest pre-camp sleeper.
Huddle Up: The erratic Devery Henderson will stick around too because he's faster than a bullet and knows the system. After Colston, Moore, and Henderson it's a scattershot bunch, consisting of the aforementioned Morgan (2011 undrafted free agent), Adrian Arrington (2008 seventh-round pick), Nick Toon (2012 fourth-round pick), Andy Tanner (2010 undrafted free agent) and veteran kick returner Courtney Roby.

New Orleans Saints WR
Nick Toon was one of the standout performers during workouts this offseason.
Toon is expected to compete for the No. 4 wide receiver position during training camp.
Our View:
Toon is the son of former Jets great Al Toon, and reminds a lot of scouts of the Saints top WR Marques Colston. He's not fast or incredibly quick but he has a big frame and knows how to box out defenders.

Saints.com mentions rookie WR Nick Toon as a guy who could help replace WR Robert Meachem in 2012. “He has been great and is picking things up pretty quickly,” Marques Colston said. “He is going to be a contributor for us. He is very intelligent and smooth. He just gets it. I enjoy working with him.” Toon has drawn comparisons to Colston as a big (6'4, 218 pounds), reliable possession receiver. Colston, of course, went off for 1,038 yards and 8 scores in his rookie season in New Orleans. Toon won't come close to those numbers this year, but he'll be a guy to monitor in training camp. He's capable of winning the #3 WR job behind Colston and Lance Moore. His competition for that spot will come from Devery Henderson and
