There was a time last season, during the opening weeks, when the following question was considered completely legit:
"Who's gonna be better rest-of-season, Cam Newton or Ryan Fitzpatrick?"

The same owners who struggled with that dilemma just 10 months ago will today deny that they ever waffled — "LMAO at Fitzpatrick!!! EVERYONE knew Cam was gonna blow up!" — but I'm telling you, that was the question I fielded most often. It actually didn't seem so ludicrous at the time. You'll recall that Fitzpatrick began the year by throwing nine touchdown passes over the first three weeks,

After his final game with the Eagles, we had to wonder if David Akers best days were behind him. After all, Akers would be turning 36 years old as he headed into free agency as Philadelphia went with Alex Henery in the draft.
As the lockout ended and free agency finally got underway, Akers landed with the 49ers after Joe Nedney called it a career. San Francisco clearly wasn’t going to have the same high-scoring offense we saw in Philadelphia, and we had to wonder if Akers would be good for 30 field conversions in a season.
For the first time in as long as I can remember, I had Akers listed outside the top ten kickers to target on draft day. Boy was I wrong, as the 49ers finally had the breakout

It’s time for fantasy owners to keep in mind some of the more pitiful offenses around the league, and find a defense that plays them on the waiver wire to exploit these matchups. As funny as this sounds, the Colts have to be the worst team in the NFL, and their offense is in poor shape as quarterback Curtis Painter continues to regress from his early marginal success against the Buccaneers and Chiefs.
Look to the Falcons as a defense to target, as their pass rush is alive once again with John Abraham healthy. Even though the Falcons have to play in Indianapolis, they should be good for a few turnovers, four or more sacks and some opportunities for touchdowns.
