If you grew up with a grandfather, like mine, who liked to watch Hee-Haw, you might be able to recall the poor farmers on the show singing how if they didn't have bad luck, they would have no luck at all. I can still recall the lyrics of "Gloom, despair, and agony on me." I've been thinking about those Hee-Haw farmers lately in regard to the Hogs. Players kicked off the team or transferring, head coach kicked off the team, players suspended for alleged thievery - likely to be kicked off the team, and we all hold our breath every time Knile Davis takes a walk down a flight of stairs. What next? Right? This all in the year that people thought the Hogs could

That was until Freeze offered a solution: his “Journey.” He told players that he didn’t know how long it would take for them to make it out or find some sort of salvation, but if they followed him, they’d find the light.

Arkansas Football: Phillip Fulmer Would Have Been a Good Fit with the Razorbacks
Source: Bleacher Report NCAAF
Tuesday was a banner day for former Tennessee head coach Phillip Fulmer. The former Tennessee head coach was named to the College Football Hall of Fame's class of 2012.
But that wasn't the only news item Fulmer's name appeared in on Tuesday.
In an interview with on the 3HL radio program on WGFX 104.5 The Zone in Nashville, Fulmer told Clay Travis, Blaine Bishop and Brent Dougherty that he would have been interested in the opening (via: 3HL's Twitter account):
Phillip Fulmer tells us, "...the Arkansas job, I would've jumped all over." #SEC
— Brent, Clay & Blaine (@3HL1045) May 15, 2012
It would have been a good fit, too.
I wrote in mid-April that Fulmer had the pedigree to be able to step in and be a CEO-type head coach for Arkansas, and that the move could serve both parties very well.

For Fulmer, it would have allowed him a way back into the coaching ranks, something that he's been trying to do since he resigned from the Tennessee Volunteers in the fall of 2008. Additionally, he would have stepped into a situation that is ready-made for a national title run, which could only help his future job prospects.
For Arkansas, things still worked out well. John L. Smith was the only potential candidate that could provide the Razorbacks with program continuity and BCS-level coaching experience.
The thought of Fulmer coaching at Arkansas may have rubbed some Arkansas fans the wrong way, but the guy is now a Hall of Fame coach now. How many of those are just sitting around in April looking for jobs?

With two new teams added to the mix, let’s take a look at what we learned in the SEC this spring:
1. Quarterback Central: The SEC gets a bad rap for not piling up Xbox-like passing yards, and granted, it wasn’t a great year for quarterbacks in the league last season. But did you know that an SEC quarterback has been taken in the first round of the NFL draft eight of the last 10 years? And that includes four quarterbacks taken No. 1 overall.

Does anybody really remember spring awards? They don’t hand out any hardware for what goes on in March and April.
Nonetheless, we’re still going to honor the highs and the lows of the spring in the SEC:
Best performance: How sharp was Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson this spring? The Hogs’ offensive coordinator, Paul Petrino, said if anybody had a better spring than Wilson, then he was Superman. In four major scrimmages, including Arkansas’ spring game, Wilson threw 16 touchdown passes and completed 75.

From billboards to an untimely joy ride, the SEC has seen a lot of change in recent months.
The black Missouri billboards sprinkled around the South, reading “PROUD TO BE SEC: MIZZOU” coupled with those not-so-discrete Texas A&M/SEC TV adds ushered in the arrival of the SEC’s new families. But their exodus from the Big 12 wasn’t the only big change for the league.
The league said goodbye to a load of defensive talent and lost a couple of head coaches -- and even more assistants.
