A revealing study on the Coaching Search.com site shows the Noles offense operates at a slower pace than the national average: 65 plays per game vs. 71. And would you believe FSU is tied with Miami for last in the ACC? No surprise that Clemson is first in snaps per game with 78, but who would've guessed that N.C. State is running ten more than the Noles?

Pitt isn’t the only team in need of an ACC rival. The good news in the ACC is that six teams -- Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Virginia and Virginia Tech already have rivalries in place should the ACC decide to reserve the final week of the regular season for rivalry games. North Carolina and NC State would also make sense, but there are still six teams in need of somebody to hate. My take is don’t force it, because that’s the only option with Syracuse right now.

ACC Division Title Champs Face off in Season Finale

Due to game cancellations earlier in the season Florida State and North Carolina decided to add an extra game which gets them both to a maximum of 56 on the season. It works out for both as FSU was on its way to North Carolina for the ACC tournament and UNC gets to play at home. At this point in the season North Carolina is a lock to be a national seed while catastrophic events would have to occur over the next 4 games for FSU to miss out on a national seed. The major reason behind this is that there are not many other deserving teams that could pass FSU for a national seed. If the Noles were to falter in the tournament like they did last season, 0-3, you can't penalize them for games that they are forced to play and still reward

They prefer the committee to resemble the model used in basketball to select the NCAA tournament field, and also prefer that people currently affiliated with the sport serve on the committee. Could that work in football? There really is no better person to ask than Georgia Tech athletic director Mike Bobinski, who has served as chairman of the NCAA men's basketball tournament selection committee the past two years.

EJ Manuel appears to be in strong consideration for the starting QB at Buffalo in his rookie season. Speaking on Sirius/XM, EJ had an eye-opening perspective on Coach Fisher's playbook versus what he's studying at his new team.

"The funny thing is it's easier to learn than the offense I had at Florida State. It's a true West Coast-type progression offense. Ryan Day makes his return to Boston

Offensive coordinator Ryan Day has spent more time at Boston College than any other program, so it is easy to see why he settled in so easily when he made his return in January. Day spent five seasons at BC as an offensive assistant between 2007-11. His only year away in the last seven was his first job as an offensive coordinator, under Steve Addazio at Temple. When Addazio took the BC job, he brought Day along with him. And with Day came some familiarity with the upperclassmen already on the roster.

EJ Manuel had some interesting comments recently comparing the Buffalo Bills' offense to Florida State's under Jimbo Fisher.

Defensive end DeMarcus Walker has been cleared to play football (per 247Sports.com), taking to his Twitter account to let everybody know the great news.

Well, I guess that's great news for the Seminoles, bad news for the rest of the ACC.

Florida State Football: Florida State Brilliant to Schedule USF

Though their paths have only crossed twice, Florida State and South Florida have created drama on the football field. And that drama might help make FSU eligible for the upcoming four-team College Football Playoff.

The first time the teams met in 2009, the Bulls upset the Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium 17-7. It would help start a tailspin of a season that ended with Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden pushed out of FSU.

While the last encounter in 2012 didn’t result in a dramatic upset, current FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher and a Seminole football team with national title aspirations got exposure to high school

The future: potential 2014 back court players

Now that all of the notable 2013 players have committed, we can start evaluating where FSU might be heading in terms of its 2014 basketball recruiting class. The staff has brought in back-to-back excellent classes, and hasn't really whiffed since 2011 (only Kiel Turpin remains). The 2012 class was big and full of intriguing projects, while the 2013 class only contains two players, but they're both very talented.

The 2014 class will be another big one. Currently, there are six spots available, but that assumes Ham and Co. don't add a transfer this year.
