Report: Kentucky to Play Georgetown at the Verizon Center
Source: Casual Hoya by Hire Esherick
Andy Katz is reporting that Kentucky and Georgetown are likely to meet this upcoming season as part of the Big East-SEC Challenge. He states:
The Big East still has to decide if 14 schools will participate in the Big East-SEC Challenge instead of 12. Based on conversations with multiple sources, the highest-profile game that could occur is Kentucky at Georgetown. I wouldn't be surprised to see Louisville at Florida, Marquette at Missouri, and Tennessee at Notre Dame. But those last four appear to be more speculation at this point. The most likely matchup is UK-GU.

A "Fair and Balanced" Look from the Syracuse Perspective: Pete Thamel on the NCAA's Inquiry Into Nerlens Noel's Recruitment
Source: Casual Hoya by Hire Esherick
Remember that time that investigative reporting used to report the results of thorough and unbiased investigations? Yeah, me neither. Take the works of one Pete Thamel, a national college sports reporter for The New York Times and a graduate of Syracuse University. It seems that Thamel is incapable of publishing anything that can ever be deemed fair and balanced.
In March 2012, Thamel penned a piece on the top basketball recruit in the Class of 2012, Nerlens Noel. At the time Noel was deciding

The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports: The Casual 2012 Kentucky Derby Preview
Source: Casual Hoya by CasualHoya
With a deep field of 20 contenders, this year's Kentucky Derby looks to be one of the more competitive Runs for the Roses in recent memory. Because I have a rep to uphold as a two-time defending Derby trifecta champion, I have spent more time than I should have over the course of the past few weeks pouring over YouTube clips of the past performances for all of the entries. And though I am certainly a worse person for disregarding anything I had to do that was actually important (like properly feeding this guy, for example, who has been without bacon treats for far too long), let's cut the crap and get right to the preview.

As a competitor, it’s so disheartening to go to these various schools throughout the conference and check out these state-of-the-art, expansive facilities. When you compare those facilities to the meager accommodations at McDonough, you can’t help but frown… Beyond that, it is even more frustrating to be a member of one of the 29 teams that is forced to share this small space that is McDonough… We all work hard in practice and we smell like hard work after practice, and that just litters the building as various teams are in the hallway… It’s pretty awful.
