This is part one of a multi-part series that will break down all of the expiring contracts that the Devils will face this offseason. The first position, Right Wing, contains one of the biggest free agents of the offseason. There are many debates as to whether or not David Clarkson should be on the Devils next year. This series won’t break down the entire free agent pool, just the ones that could be leaving the Devils. First we will start with some minor free agents.

When a team loses three key goal scorers in the offseason and suffers injuries to two of their star players in a lockout-shortened season, it's unlikely they will make any sort of run at the Stanley Cup.
For the Devils, 2013 was not kind to the defending Eastern Conference champs. New Jersey finished 19-19-10, good for dead last in the Atlantic Division and 12th in the conference.
It was clear that the Devils were missing Zach Parise, as head coach Peter DeBoer used a number of different line combinations throughout the 48-game season. The team was also sidetracked by the injuries suffered by Ilya Kovalchuk and Martin Brodeur, an issue that led to an 11-game winless streak toward the end of the year.

Tedenby, the Devils’ 2008 first-round draft pick, has nine goals and 20 assists in 105 career NHL games. Following the lockout, the 5-foot-9, 175-pound native of Vetlanda, Sweden began the season in New Jersey, but played only four NHL games in 2012-13, putting up no goals and one assist.

It started out as just a suggestion by a local writer in Calgary, but it has spread like wildfire and evolved into a rumor that everyone is talking about.
Could NHL Sheriff Brendan Shanahan really be coming to Calgary and take over Ken King’s duties as Head of Hockey Operations? It’s definitely a possibility – one that would make a lot of sense for the organization.
Calgary is in line for a new rink to replace the Saddledome and considering the Calgary Flames also own the CFL’s Stampeders – who’s McMahon Stadium is also looking like it’s time is running out – they may look to combine the two and build a huge sporting complex that could house both. Having something like that would also go a long way towards Calgary’s reported desire to host another Olympic Games.
Ken King has long been praised for his work on the business side of the Flames, but criticized for his involvement in the hockey operations side. This rumored move would ...
