This newest addition hails from 2012-2013 Fleer Retro, is the auto parallel of the base card, and was had with a Bobby Ryan base card for half a blaster. The seller also threw in a random relic of a former Duck prospect. This Getzlaf is one of two signatures in Retro and was part of a John Hancock Group seeded at a rate of 1:136 packs. It's not even the rarer of the two Getzy autos, by a long-shot.

The other legacy: The suspensions, and his reaction to them.

Hello, this is a feature that will run through the entire season and aims to recap the weekend’s events and boils those events down to one admittedly superficial fact or stupid opinion about each team. Feel free to complain about it.
No one is ever going to be totally happy with the ways in which the NHL's referees or officials make their decisions. We can all agree on that.
If there's a game in which neither team is whistled for a penalty, both will likely complain that the refs missed calls on the other. If there's a game in which both teams receive 10 power plays, both will complain that the referees were overly harsh in doling out discipline. No one is ever especially happy with calls that go in between those two extremes,

The first round of the playoffs has come and gone, but a number of big-time stars forgot to show up. Some teams were able to survive despite the minimal contributions from their offensive stars, while others suffered because of it. Here’s a look at the top five scorers who were missing in action in Round 1.
5. Corey Perry, Anaheim Ducks
If I told you the Anaheim Ducks would score 21 goals in the first round of the playoffs, you’d probably assume sniper Corey Perry would net at least a handful of them. As it turns out, the former 50-goal scorer, who tied for the team lead with 15 goals this season, failed to light the lamp even once in Round 1. It seems somewhat unfathomable, but Perry finished with a measly two assists. That’s a big reason why the Ducks are not one of the eight teams remaining.
4. Brad Richards, New York Rangers
Richards finished the regular season third on the team in scoring with 34 points. In the first round of the playoffs, though, Richards was a complete no-sho...

There’s been an awful lot of speculation around these parts for some time that Bobby Ryan will not be a Duck long-term. While he’s been subject to trade speculation a few times in his career, the big money deals recently signed by his linemates means that Anaheim will have to get creative if they’re going to keep him long-term.
With this in mind, I thought it might be an interesting exercise to get a more complete picture of Bobby Ryan, the player, by finding other players he’s similar to. The value of this exercise is to try to remove the bias we have about Bobby either way. If we can find a few players that can serve as analogs for Bobby,

The NHL announced the three finalists for the coach of the year award (the Jack Adams trophy). Anaheim Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau is one of the three, the first time a Ducks coach has been nominated. Joel Quenneville (Chicago) and Paul MacLean (Ottawa) are the other two finalists.
The criteria for the award is the coach who has “contributed the most to his team’s success.” The NHL Broadcasters’ Association votes on this award.
Boudreau has been nominated before and won the award in the 2007-2008 season as head of the Washington Capitals.
"He's a players' coach," said Teemu Selanne. "He makes everybody feel very important. Everybody just [loves] to play for him."

The Anaheim Ducks early exit from the Stanley Cup playoffs was a bit of a surprise to everyone. What shouldn't have come as a surprise is head coach Bruce Boudreau having been recognized for his teams excellent regular season with a Jack Adams nomination.
After taking over mid-season a year ago, Boudreau led the Ducks to a 30-12-6 finish in his first full year (sort of, lockout blah, blah) ,a...

Quirky 1 of 1s don't particularly do it for me, but if one can be had for a great price, I'm not opposed to adding it to my collection. Case in point, the newest addition to my Ryan Getzlaf PC.Clocking in at $3.24 delivered with free shipping, this 1 of 1 is a Dave and Adam's exclusive. Yes, that Dave and Adam's. The card hails from the 2008-2009 In The Game Heroes and Prospects Series set and was originally the Gold Version /10. So, I already wanted and needed it.D&A then stamped the card and provided this description of why they did so:"Available only at the In The Game Collecting in the USA Event at our Transit store location, back on Saturday, August 28th, 2010. You had to purchase a box of 2008/09 ITG Heroes & Prospects Hockey, open it up and get a special edition game used memorabilia card stamped 1/1 just for this event."Quirky? Yes. Oddball? Definitely. But a cool pickup, nevertheless? Most certainly. It's the seventh Getz 1/1 (five pri...

The NHL announced the finalists for the Jack Adams Award on Friday, as Bruce Boudreau of the Anaheim Ducks, Paul MacLean of the Ottawa Senators and Joel Quenneville of the Chicago Blackhawks are up for the trophy presented to the head coach who has "contributed the most to his team's success," as voted on by members of the NHL Broadcasters' Association.
We imagine it warms Mike Babcock’s heart to see Quenneville get a nomination, being that President’s Trophy winners don’t always get the Jack Adams love. Then again, it’s hard to ignore a coach who guides his team to 24 straight games with at least a point to start the season.
It was a bumper crop for great NHL coaching performances this season, which is bad news for Jack Capuano of the New York Islanders, Mike Yeo of the Minnesota Wild, Dan Bylsma of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Babcock and especially Michel Therrien of the Montreal Canadiens.
Who takes home the Jack?
