A couple Hokies talk about their south Florida ties

Hokies freshman defensive tackle Luther Maddy grew up less than an hour from where Miami plays its home games at Sun Life Stadium, but the Delray Beach, Fla., native has never been a Hurricanes’ fan.

“I always hated Miami because my best friend loves them. I just hated it. I was always a Florida Gators fan,” said Maddy, who is expected to see a spike in playing time Saturday in the aftermath of Antoine Hopkins’ season-ending knee injury.
