The Virginia Tech-Boston College series has probably been the best in the ACC since the Eagles joined the conference in 2005. But the rivalry goes further back than that.
They battled each other in some memorable Big East clashes for several years as well.
The series started in 1993, and the Hokies hold a 13-6 record over the Eagles. They’ve played 19 times, and in 15 of those games both teams had a winning record.
Saturday is only the second time in 15 post-September meetings that one of the teams has had a losing mark.
Here is a game-by-game rundown and each team’s record before the game. The games in which both teams weren’t over .500 are bolded.
1993 (BC 48-34 win): Virginia Tech 6-2; Boston College 5-2
1994 (VT 12-7): VT
