Boston Red Sox Avoid Arbitration with Alfredo Aceves
Right handed pitcher Alfredo Aceves is the latest Boston Red Sox player to avoid arbitration. As per Alex Speier at WEEI.com, the Red Sox agreed to a one year, $1.2M deal with the versatile 29 year old hurler which includes up to $100,000 more in possible bonuses based on potential starts or relief appearances. Aceves had filed for a $1.6M contract heading into arbitration withBoston countering with an offer of $950,000. With Aceves signed, David Ortiz is now the only Red Sox player still heading towards arbitration.
Aceves was Boston’s third best reliever last season, behind Jonathan Papelbon and Daniel Bard,
