Cal Bears Football: Star Recruit Jared Goff Commits to Play Quarterback

Jared Goff, a star quarterback out of Marin Catholic High School in the Bay Area, has verbally committed to attend Cal and play for Coach Jeff Tedford in Berkeley.

This is the second time in as many years that Tedford has landed a blue chip recruit from a local high school. Last year, it was Zach Kline out of San Ramon Valley High School, who will be a freshman this coming season.

Heading into the Bears’ 2012 set of spring practices, senior Zach Maynard will likely take the majority of the snaps.
