Canucks’ second-round pick Alexandre Mallet feels he’s ready to play in the AHL next season.
The Canucks have signed Alexandre Mallet, their second-round draft pick of last June’s NHL Entry Draft to a three-year entry level deal.
It was a surprise to see the Canucks draft a 20-year-old in the second round, but they were impressed by the package that Mallet brings. He went from being a fourth-line agitator to an offensive go-to guy, from, 19 points to 81, and from 10 goals to 34 with Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL.
