Cincinnati coach Butch Jones confirmed Thursday that assistant coach Kerry Coombs has left the team for a position with Ohio State.
Coombs had been with the Bearcats for five seasons, and a huge asset to Jones. A longtime coach at Colerain High School in Cincinnati, Coombs played a major role recruiting in the area. On staff, he served as defensive backs coach and special-teams coordinator, and was recently given the new title of passing game coordinator after Tim Banks left for Illinois.
