Denard Robinson still thriving in spread

Michigan offensive coordinator Al Borges has a dilemma.

He wants to begin the transition to a pro-style offense, a system Michigan will be running in a few years.

But he has a quarterback in Denard Robinson who still thrives when operating in the spread.

After a shaky start against Eastern Michigan, Robinson led a seven-play, 97-yard scoring drive by doing what he does best: running the football out of a spread set. He misfired on his first five pass attempts, tossing an interception that led to an Eastern Michigan field goal, before regaining the momentum like he always does -- with his legs.

Not surprisingly, Robinson settled into a better passing rhythm after breaking off a 55-yard run.

What should Borges do? Stick with a spread-type setup or continue with the transition?

It's awfully tempting to keep Robinson in a structure where he thrives.

Michigan leads 7-3 midway through the second quarter.
