Some of you are probably thinking “when did Dwight Lowery sign with the Falcons?” Honestly, it’s not that ridiculous of a question. Former Jet, and Jaguar, free safety Dwight Lowery’s signing with the Atlanta Falcons in April was a little on the quiet side. On the contrary, his performance in OTAs has been anything but. With his sights set on the starting role alongside Falcons safety William Moore, Lowery has been turning heads in practice this offseason and some, including Moore, are not surprised.
In his three years with the New York Jets, Lowery had seven interceptions. But when he joined the Jacksonville Jaguars, his career was stifled by injuries. Now that he’s back to full health, Atlanta just might be the place for him to get his career back to where it needs to be. Something interesting about Lowery is that this is not his first time interacting with Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff. In fact, they go way back to the days when Lowery played safety and corner at San Jose State.
