On Monday, the New Orleans Saints matched the offer sheet that the Falcons gave to restricted free agent free safety Rafael Bush. While this move might push the need to find a starting free safety slightly higher that it was before, Thomas Dimitroff and company must be methodical in finding a reliable upgrade for Thomas DeCoud. Tuesday afternoon, Atlanta signed Dwight Lowery, a safety formerly of Jacksonville. Lowery is added depth, but he is in no means expected to be a starter in the secondary. He was cut after being placed on the I.R. last season from a concussion. He is a walking injury magnet as he has missed 26 games in six seasons. He will be a camp body, and potentially a back-up.
