Flood worries rise with water in New England

NEW YORK (AP) — The remnants of Irene have turned rivers and creeks into raging torrents in parts of upstate New York and New England.
Authorities in Vermont's capital, Montpelier, warned residents to be ready to evacuate late Sunday as the Winooski River rose.
Parts of downtown Brattleboro and Bennington, Vt., were submerged.
