There was nothing spectacular about South Carolina's performance Saturday, although sophomore quarterback Connor Shaw did account for four touchdowns.
Nonetheless, the No. 12 Gamecocks did make a little history with their 41-20 win over The Citadel. It was their ninth win of the season, marking the first time in school history that the Gamecocks have won nine or more games in back-to-back seasons. They finished 9-5 a year ago.
Shaw finished 16-of-18 for 217 yards and threw touchdown passes of 32 yards to Alshon Jeffery, 25 yards to Ace Sanders and 20 yards to Rory Anderson.
