‘He’s staying in Texas. Mark it down.’

Jason Churchill of Prospect Insider:
One AL front office man on Lee’s free agency: “Unless they offer like $50 or 60 million more in total, he’s staying in Texas. Mark it down.”
If the Yankees don’t get Lee, I wonder what the Angels could get if they trade Jered Weaver to New York. Right. They’re not going to. The Angels don’t rebuild. But I wonder all the same. Two years until he hits free agency, perhaps not a great chance that the Angels re-sign him when that happens, the second or third best pitcher in the AL this year … Montero, Gardner, and the Yankees take part of a bad contract (Kazmir) off the Angels hands? Too optimistic, or way way too optimistic?
