The stingy Tigers defense does not give up a TD and ends a losing streak to Tech.
HOKIES' REPORT CART
- Get out of the gate fast
F ... Tech didn’t get it done here. The Hokies turned the ball over on their first two possessions and were fortunate to be down only 3-0. The Lane faithful was loud. By midway in the fourth quarter, a huge portion of the home fans were well on their way to the exits. - Run the ball
D ... The Hokies ran the ball for a season-low 133 yards, averaging only 3.3 yards per carry, 1.5 less than they averaged the first four games. David Wilson had 20 totes for 123 yards, but fumbled for the third time this season. Tech had hoped to do more on the ground against a defense that had ranked 85th in the country against the run. - Who's up, who's down?
F ... Give it to Clemson here. The Tigers came into a hostile environment, held things together for the most part and recorded the most lopsided road win ever against a ranked opponent. Clemson’s 323 total yards fell 182 yards shy of their pregame average, but the Tigers’ defense was much stouter than their pregame numbers suggested. Tech never could get out of its own way all night.
