After nearly seven weeks in Jupiter, Fla., and stops in Miami, Milwaukee and Cincinnati, the Cardinals are finally ready to play in front of their home fans again. And as it was the last time Busch Stadium was full, expect a party.
The tailgaters and scene-soakers are out in full force this morning. I have heard all about Opening Day in St. Louis — experienced it once, too, when the Pirates opened the season here — and, even with some ominous weather, the palpable anticipation didn’t disappoint. This is a particularly special opener, too, given that it is also a celebration of the team’s 11th World Championship.
