The Texans have their 3-4 rush linebacker, nabbing Brooks Reed from Arizona with their second-round pick, No. 42 overall.
ReedHe’s extraordinarily fast in his first 10 yards, and the Titans are surely envisioning him bolting into the backfield behind Mario Williams, Antonio Smith and first-round pick J.J. Watt.
Scouts Inc. says he is “technically-sound and relentless,” that he uses his hands extremely well to keep blocker away from him and that he moves from speed to power well.
I wrote about Reed as a possibility a couple weeks ago.
The Texans kept up a big trend of going defense early. According to ESPN Stats & Info, since 2004 Houston has made 13 picks in first two rounds and 11 have been on defense.
