A more interesting ACC road opener this week for Virginia Tech than many people anticipated when the schedule was released. Wake Forest has won four straight after dropping its opener at Syracuse and is 4-1, 3-0 in the ACC – tied with Clemson atop the Atlantic Division.
Yes, Florida State didn’t have quarterback E.J. Manuel in Saturday’s 35-30 loss at Wake. So that certainly played a part in the game’s outcome, as redshirt freshman Clint Trickett struggled – 6-of-11 passing, 29 yards, two interceptions
But his counterpart, Wake sophomore Tanner Price, was sensational – as he’s been all season (unfortunately for the Demon Deacons, he was hurt late in the Syracuse game, which no doubt contributed to the loss).
