Injury update on Gayle, Hosley

Virginia Tech sophomore defensive end James Gayle (ankle) showed vast improvement in his recovery from injury and says he thinks he can play Saturday against Boston College. Cornerback Jayron Hosley (hamstring) is a different story.
Hosley, a junior who won first-team All-America honors last year, doesn’t want to rush back and risk further injury to his left leg.
“I don’t want it to be a lingering thing for the rest of the season. If I have to take this game off then that’s what I’ll do,” said Hosley, who played the first three series Saturday against Wake Forest before pulling up during Chris Givens’ 79-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Tanner Price.
