The Tigers have announced that they will recall Jacob Turner, the 20-year-old right-hander who is the consensus top pitching prospect in the Tiger organization, to start Thursday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Turner started the season in extended spring training after tendinitis in his right shoulder took him out of the race for the fifth spot in the Tigers' rotation in March. He has pitched well in the minors this season. In Advanced-A Lakeland, he made four starts, posting an ERA of 1.66
