John Fox: 'Nothing to see here, move along'

It’s farewell week for John Fox and let’s give the often-unquotable coach props for finally saying something no one else with the Panthers officially has said. I also like the way Fox said that he’s done in Carolina after Sunday’s game in Atlanta.
“This is not new news,’’ Fox told the Charlotte media. “It's a finishing. It's kind of been knowledgeable for a couple years."
Well, it has at least been common knowledge since the Panthers allowed Fox to enter the season with a contract that expires Feb. 1. I think all that’s really left to see is what the exact exit strategy is.
Do the Panthers call a news conference Monday and put Jerry Richardson up there to announce that Fox isn’t coming back? If they have a news conference, do they let Fox come in and say goodbye? Or do they just skip the news conference, send out an e-mail release to the media that Fox is out and the coaching search has started?
