But coach John Tortorella says they’re not being sent to Hartford (AHL) and he expects them to be on ice tomorrow. Meanwhile, the indications are, despite evidence to the contrary, the Rangers don’t have a deal in place to be completed today. There’s plenty of speculation, and rightfully so, that the Rangers are looking to deal for a defenseman, specifically a left-shooting one. The one name that keeps coming up is exiled Oiler Sheldon Souray but there are no indications the Rangers are moving in that direction. Another name speculated on, Vancouver’s Shane O’Brien went to Nashville today.
On the surface, the moves, particularly placing Tim Kennedy and his bargain salary of $550,000 on waivers seems curious, at best. Tortorella,
