Kicker Journell paying dividendsfor the Hokies

BLACKSBURG Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer doesn't give out scholarships to kickers often, but he thought Cody Journell was worth the investment. Journell, a sophomore from Ripplemead, about 30 minutes from Blacksburg, is the Hokies' first kicker to sign a national letter of intent since Shayne Graham in 1996. (Technically, Nic Schmitt signed one in 2002, but he would only punt at Tech).
