LaDainian Tomlinson set to announce his retirement

Waco product and former TCU superstar running back LaDainian Tomlinson said last month that he was 95 percent retired. It has become apparent in the last week that he is close to adding the final five percent.

The fifth-leading rusher in NFL history was scheduled to be at the Acho Brothers FUNdamentals Youth Clinic in Dallas on Friday but was not in attendance. Campers were told that Tomlinson was headed back to San Diego to announce his retirement.

The San Diego Chargers did not return comment about a possible retirement when contacted Friday evening.

According to Michael Gehlken of UTSanDiego.com, Tomlinson is expected to sign a contract with the Chargers on Monday before announcing his retirement.
