The Panthers and long-snapper J.J. Jansen have reached agreement on a four-year contract extension, Jansen’s agent, Paul Sheehy, announced on Twitter.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Originally signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame, Jansen spent his rookie season on injured reserve and was traded to the Panthers in 2009. Jansen has handled the snapping duties and been credited with six tackles in 48 games with the Panthers.

Jansen played last season under a one-year, $1.2 million restricted free agent tender and was scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in March.
