When the Longhorn Network was announced earlier this year, it planned on having one Texas football game exclusively on its airways.
This year, it will have two.
The Longhorns' season opener against Rice on Sept. 4 will be broadcast on the network, which debuts on Aug. 26. It will also broadcast an additional Big 12 Conference game later in the season.
That game will be determined at a later date.
"We are thrilled to be able to bring not one but two games to Longhorn fans this year," said Stephanie Druley, the Longhorn Network vice president of production, in a news release. "The Texas-Rice game will be an exciting first for the network and demonstrate how we will provide the most
