The Capitals are on the ice at KCI for their final practice in Washington before departing for a two-game trip to western Canada Tuesday afternoon, but defenseman Mike Green is not skating with the group.
Green, who has missed two consecutive practices, twisted his right ankle late in the first period Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings on a play when he was hit in the jaw with the puck. On Monday, Green was walking with a pronounced limp but his agent, Craig Oster, was optimistic the defenseman would be ready to play in Edmonton Thursday.
