Morning links: What’s up with all the fullbacks?

Kicking off today’s Sunday NFL notes which you can read in full here, I took a look at the assemblage of fullbacks and attempted to provide some perspective.
Why did Bill Belichick decide to load up in free agency with Spencer Larsen and Tony Fiammeta? What’s the purpose? Are the Patriots going to be truly committed to running the ball more with two-back sets? Is this a Josh McDaniels creation? Or, is it really a screen pass deal? What gives?
To try and get a better handle on all this, we consulted former Pats fullback Heath Evans, who remains somewhat skeptical about the whole thing. He’d love to think his ex-team is going to run the ball more. He’s just not convinced that’s the case. (more…)
