The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly eager to part ways with Josh Smith.  The Charlotte Bobcats are in rebuilding mode.  They desperately need offense and pretty much any talent they can find.

Josh Smith can be an electrifying scorer who can create his own shot, and he plays solid defense.  The Bobcats have virtually no offensive threats and they could use a high-flying defender to throw at opposing teams.  A trade bringing Smith to Charlotte could benefit and satisfy both teams.
