NHC: Tropical storm conditions spread into Va.

MIAMI (AP) — Forecasters say tropical storm conditions are spreading into Virginia, Maryland and Delaware as Hurricane Irene moves northward.
The National Hurricane Center said Saturday morning that Irene was still hitting eastern North Carolina with heavy rain and wind, but that those conditions were spreading north.
