New Virginia Tech hoops commitment Marshall Wood draws elite comparisons, according to his high school coach

When you're told by Virginia Tech's men's basketball coaches you have a player on your high school team resembling a A.D. Vassallo and Deron Washington hybrid, it stands to reason those Tech coaches are going to have a lot of interest in your guy.
Marshall Wood, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward from Rustburg High in Rustburg, apparently fits in that Vassallo/Washington category. Wood committed Tuesday morning to Tech, according to Rustburg coach Brantley Shields.
Wood is Tech's second commitment for its 2012 recruiting class. He joins forward Montrezl Harrell, a native of Tarboro, N.C. who's now at Hargrave Military Academy.
