Other than the University of Maryland, which will host Virginia on Saturday, there may be no other football program in the country more heavily fortified by players from the state of Maryland than U.Va.
Taking a look at U.Va.’s roster, there are 13 players from Maryland. I looked around at several of the most likely programs to have more than 13 players from Maryland on its roster, and none of the programs I checked out topped U.Va. (5-3 overall, 2-2 ACC).
Penn State and West Virginia each has 11. Rutgers and Navy both have six. Virginia Tech has five. Connecticut, Pittsburgh and Syracuse have four each. Boston College has two.
