- Wulff on stopping the run: "It has been an issue. A lot of things have been. But our defense has more physical strength, more team speed than we have had." Noted also has players "who have played." Said, "I'm pretty confident we'll take a big step on defense."
- Wulff on guys who will step up: RB Rickey Galvin, WR Kristoff Williams, LB Sekope Kaufusi, LB Alex Hoffman-Ellis, who "has a chance to be one of the finer LBs in our conference."
- Karstetter: "Any sort of lack of respect we feel as a team we'll use as motivation to go out there on game day and prove ourselves."
- Wulff on O-line struggles of last year: "I think those things are solved."
- Wulff: "I think you're going to see a pretty explosive offense this fall."
- Wulff on next step for Jeff Tuel: "We're going to go as he goes in a lot of ways but we have a better supporting cast."
